Categories - Overview

Organize your products in a flexible category hierarchy.

Overview

Categories help you structure and organize products:

  • Hierarchical tree structure
  • Unlimited nesting depth
  • Multiple category assignment for articles
  • Category-specific attributes
  • Property inheritance

Category Tree

The category tree shows all categories in a tree view:

  • Click the arrow to expand subcategories
  • The number of articles is shown next to each category
  • Categories can be moved via drag & drop
  • Context menu via right-click for quick actions

Create Category

How to create a new category:

  1. 1
    Go to "Categories" in the sidebar
  2. 2
    Click "New Category"
  3. 3
    Enter a name
  4. 4
    Optional: Select a parent category
  5. 5
    Optional: Add a description
  6. 6
    Click "Create"

Edit Category

Change name:

  • Click on the category
  • Edit the name
  • Save the change

Add description:

  • Open category details
  • Add a description
  • This is used in some exports

Move category:

  • Via drag & drop in category tree
  • Or via context menu → "Move to"

Delete Category
